Two California State parks border Costanoa.
Big basin State park, is located inland of Hwy 1, approximately four miles south of Costanoa, and is accessible via foot up Whitehouse Creek Road.
West of Costanoa, along the ocean side of Hwy 1, lies Ano Nuevo State Reserve, which is accessible by foot from Costanoa, or by vehicle three miles south on Hwy 1.
